The Competitor Positioning skill tracks how competitors position themselves online. It scrapes homepages, features pages, pricing pages, and blogs to extract messaging, value props, CTAs, and pricing models. Compares against previous snapshots to surface positioning shifts with before/after tracking. Powered by the Nimble CLI and built on the open-source Agent Skills standard for cross-platform agent compatibility.

"battlecard for Stripe"

How It Works

1

Confirm scope

Loads competitor list from your business profile. If more than 4 competitors, asks which to focus on with API credit estimates (~3-5 credits per competitor).
2

Capture your own positioning

Maps your site and extracts your homepage, features page, and pricing page as a baseline for comparison.
3

Research competitors in parallel

Per competitor: maps the site, extracts homepage/features/pricing, searches blog content, and analyzes social proof. Runs up to 4 competitors concurrently.
4

Compare against previous snapshots

Loads prior positioning snapshots from memory. Surfaces what changed with before/after tracking per competitor.
5

Deliver the analysis

Produces either a full snapshot or delta report depending on recency. Offers distribution via Notion or Slack.

Output

Full Snapshot (first run or 14+ days since last)

  • TL;DR for Marketing — 3-5 actionable positioning insights
  • Messaging Matrix — comparison table (tagline, primary CTA, value props, target audience, pricing model) across all competitors using verbatim quotes
  • Per-Competitor Positioning Profile — homepage messaging, features analysis, pricing positioning, content strategy, social proof strategy
  • Content Gap Analysis — topics, formats, and audience segments competitors cover that you do not
  • Positioning White Space — unclaimed value props, underserved segments, narrative gaps
  • Recommended Actions — specific next steps for the marketing team

Delta Mode (under 14 days since last run)

  • What Changed — before/after per competitor (tagline shifts, new features, pricing changes, blog themes)
  • Nothing Changed — competitors with no positioning shifts
  • Marketing Implications — what the changes mean for your strategy

Battlecard Mode

Triggered by "battlecard [competitor]". Produces a structured document with competitor overview, key claims with source URLs, counter-positioning, feature comparison, objection handling, and recommended talking points.
